Invitation to APSTH-JSTH Joint Symposium

The Asian-Pacific Society of Thrombosis and Hemostasis, hereafter referred to as “APSTH”, is a non-profit-making organization, which shall be open to any interested workers in the field of thrombosis and hemostasis in the Asian and Pacific regions (http://www.apsth.org/index.html). The APSTH is the foremost international organization in the Asia Pacific in the field of bleeding and clotting diseases, with members from Australia, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Mongolia, New Zealand, Philippine, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Taiwan, and Vietnam and with more joining at each biannual congress. JSTH is closely linked to APSTH. For instance APSTH-JSTH joint symposium has been held every year from 2005. JSTH would very much like to invite investigators, especially young ones, from APSTH countries to present their papers in the APSTH-JSTH joint symposium in Japan. Any paper is welcome, but those related to regional characteristics of particular diseases will be highly valued. The traveling expense and hotel accommodations are covered by JSTH, and the registration fee is waived. The official language in this session is English.

In 2018 the symposium was held in Sapporo at the 40th JSTH congress. Because APSTH 2018 meeting was held in Japan in conjunction with the 40th annual meeting of the JSTH, we had a special APSTH/JSTH joint symposium in 2018. The warm, friendly and stimulating atmosphere was as usual. In 2019 the symposium was held in Tsu at the 41st JSTH congress. In addition to the joint symposium, a poster session by the joint symposium presenters was held for the first time. The participants enjoyed the informal, personal two-way exchange of information and lively discussion. In 2020, 2021 and 2022, the joint symposium was a virtual symposium as 42nd, 43rd and 44th JSTH meetings were held online. Although we enjoyed the virtual congress, it was unfortunate that we could not have our joint symposium onsite in Osaka, Miyazaki and Sendai. JSTH members are looking forward to the scientific and academic exchange with APSTH members.
